Gear racks are utilized to convert rotating movement into linear movement. A gear rack has straight teeth cut into one surface area of a square or round portion of rod and operates with a pinion, which can be a small cylindrical equipment meshing with the gear rack. Generally, equipment rack and pinion are collectively known as “rack and pinion”. There are plenty of methods to use gears.
